YWILD 14 November 2015 – Kickstarting big dreams

Realising one’s dreams starts with having a single seed of inspiration sowed.

It was with this very idea in mind which kickstarted the need for a dialogue between young women that had the potential to drive the community to break barriers and nurture the next generation of leaders.

We were focused on featuring women with distinguished careers whom our audience could model themselves after. Led by moderator, Hazlina Abdul Halim, a Suria and News 938 presenter, we hosted a panel featuring:

Rahayu Mahzam, Member of Parliament for Jurong GRC and Advisor for Yayasan MENDAKI’s Empowerment Programme for Girls
Farida Alkaff, Regional Compliance Officer at Ingram Micro and Founder of UAE Compliance Professionals Network
Suzanna Seng, Commercial Pilot at Etihad Airways and Young Singaporean Achiever Award 2013 Winner
Farisha Ishak, Singer and Winner of the first season of The Final 1

With each story relaying the unique challenges and journey that all these women had to take, our audience were given an insight on how best to navigate their own path to success and to be the best versions of themselves.

This journey was also expertly visualised through a massive doodle by the exceptional team from Band of Doodlers.

This event was empowered by MENDAKI Club and PPIS (Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura or Singapore Muslim Women’s Association), and supported by Ilham Singapore and Jamiyah Singapore.
