2021 | A Pledge to Casa Raudha

“Unprecedented: To The Beat Of Her Own Drum” was launched in 6 Mar 2021 and with the great support of the community, it has raised funds to offer women an opportunity for women to do just that.

On 18 September 2021, YWILD pledged SGD 20,000 raised from the sales of the book to Casa Raudha – a safe haven for victims of domestic violence.

A cheque containing the pledged amount was presented by the Co-Founder of YWILD, Ms Nadia Yeo together with President and Vice-president of MENDAKI Club, Ms Faridah Saad and Ms Attiya Ashraf Ali, to the Chairperson of Casa Raudha, Ms Shahrany Hassan.

Parliamentary Secretary Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, who is leading the Government’s efforts to conduct a holistic review of issues relating to women, graced the cheque presentation ceremony.

She said, “I am heartened to see this group of young women empowering others who may not have had access to opportunities or had mentors who could guide them through challenging life experiences.”

“They took the initiative to produce a commemorative book so that even more individuals could benefit from the experiences shared by young women from different backgrounds featured in the book And I am heartened to know that the proceeds will go towards championing our Singapore women and supporting even more people who face challenging circumstances like domestic violence,” she added.

To every partner, community member and ally who have contributed to the sale of the book, we are deeply appreciative and thankful of your efforts to support the women and children at Casa Raudha for this year’s edition of the Young Women in Leadership Dialogue.
